Whether you’re completely new to forklift operation or looking to renew your certification, we have programs designed to meet your needs.
What You’ll Learn
We cover everything essential, from regulations to practical execution:
- Regulatory Foundations – Gain clarity on the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), CSA standards for mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), and employer/operator responsibilities.
- Equipment Knowledge – Understand different scissor lift types, structural components, control mechanisms, stability considerations, and safe use protocols.
- Pre-Operational Inspection – Learn how to conduct essential daily safety checks, including batteries, hydraulics, structural condition, and emergency systems.
- Safe Operation Procedures – Master correct startup and shutdown steps, precise maneuvering, control of elevation, safe movement, and fall protection practices.
- Hazard Recognition & Prevention – Identify common risks like tipping, falls, overhead obstructions, and unstable surfaces—and learn appropriate controls and planning.
- Maintenance & Documentation – Get familiar with routine maintenance, record-keeping, and reporting procedures to ensure ongoing equipment reliability and compliance.
- Theoretical & Practical Assessment – Successfully complete both classroom instruction and hands-on evaluations to earn a wallet-sized certificate valid in Ontario.
- Recertification & Trainer Options – Certification is typically valid for three years. We also offer Train-the-Trainer modules for your organization’s in-house capability building.
